Visual Arts <br /> Commissio members for the Mahlon Sweet Airport project included Ricky <br /> Langford, formerly of the city of Eugene; Douglas Beauchamp, director of the <br /> Lane Regi nal Arts Council; Sharon Ungerleider, a local artist; Dick <br /> Pickering a fine arts instructor at the University of Oregon; Don Genasci, a <br /> local arc itect; Roger Saydack, a local attorney; Anthony Radich, former <br /> director f the Kerns Art Center; Robert Boulton and Brian Bronson of the <br /> ~ Airport C mmission; Lotte Streisinger, a local artist and the art consultant <br /> ~r for the a rport art project; and representatives from TRA in Seattle, the <br /> architect ral firm for the project, and from Shiels and Obletz, the airport <br /> project m nagement firm. <br /> Mahl n Sweet Airport is in the last phase of a $20 million expansion <br /> that will more than triple the size of the terminal and expand the short- <br /> and long- erm parking lots. The new terminal will offer a spacious lobby, a <br /> second-st ry concourse to a larger boarding area, enclosed passenger loading <br /> i <br /> ~ bridges, mechanized baggage claim system, an observation deck, and more <br /> space for airlines, restaurant, gift shop, car rental agencies, and other <br /> airport b sinesses.
