National President Chester J. Funnye, presented <br /> the award to Ritter during the APWA Oregon Chapter state conference luncheon <br /> in Vancou er, Washington on Thursday, April 13. This is the highest award <br /> the APWA Ives to public work employees and is awarded once a year for <br /> outstandi g and dedicated service. <br /> City Maintenance Director Bob Hammitt, nominated Dave Ritter for his <br /> <br /> i <br /> managemen skill and for the increased productivity and effectiveness of his <br /> crew. Ha mitt said Ritter has developed a crew that is very oriented to <br /> efficient service delivery and to improved safety. "Dave's crew has received <br /> numerous etters from city residents applauding the quality and skill of his <br /> crew and heir helpful, courteous assistance," Hammitt continued. <br /> <br /> a <br /> Ritt r has worked hard to improve the safety record of his crew, and <br /> despite t e danger of their work, in 1988, his crew lost no time due to <br /> accidents "Good safety records are an important factor in reducing city <br /> <br /> ' costs," H mmitt said.
