PUBLIC W S DEPARTMENT • 858 PEARL • EUGENE, OREGON 97401 <br /> i <br /> I <br /> June 10, 1989 <br /> NEWS REL ASE <br /> For Imme fate Release <br /> i <br /> i Contact: Jim Etter, Project Manager, 687-5325 <br /> Diane Bishop, Bicycle Coordinator, 687-5298 <br /> I <br /> i <br /> RIVERTRAIL REOPENS SOUTH OF 4TH AVENUE <br /> The South Bank Trail along the Willamette River will reopen at noon on <br /> Monday, une 12, between Fourth Avenue (E.W.E.B.) and the Autzen Footbridge. <br /> The path has been closed due to construction of the 4th Avenue Plaza. A small <br /> detour will remain around EWEB's public service building bordering the plaza, <br /> but cyclists and pedestrians will no longer have to travel out-of-direction <br /> along th river. <br /> The path has been closed since April to allow construction of the plaza to <br /> progress at an accelerated rate. One side of the plaza is completed, allowing <br /> i <br /> for openi g of that section, with a short detour around the final stage of <br /> construction. <br /> Fina completion of the plaza is scheduled for mid July. <br /> # # # <br /> i <br /> <br /> ~r <br /> <br />
