Eugene Water & Electric Board <br /> ,V Electric ehicle Program:Requirements,2016.; <br /> •REBATE OFFER <br /> EWEB is offering a limited$200 incentive to EWEB customers who purchase or lease a new,qualifying <br /> EV.The incentive is provided to support the purchase or installation of charging equipment. <br /> ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS <br /> • Must be an EWEB electric customer with active account in applicant's name <br /> • Vehicle must be a four-wheel Battery Electric Vehicle with no internal combustion engine or <br /> ability to burn fossil fuels,with a minimum 16 kilowatt hour battery. Plug-in hybrids do not <br /> qualify at this time <br /> • Vehicle must be registered at a property with active EWEB electric services <br /> • Only new,first time purchase/lease vehicles are eligible.Used vehicles are not eligible <br /> PROGRAM STEPS <br /> 1. Submit required documents in order to have incentive processed: <br /> o Completed and signed application(offer effective October 3`d-December 3l',2016) <br /> o Copy of auto sale or lease contract(top portion of contract may be sufficient) <br /> o Copy of vehicle registration(new vehicle dealer notice temporary identification,typically <br /> • attached to the windshield,is acceptable if it displays name and address of purchaser/lease) <br /> 2. Incentive will applied as a bill credit* <br /> GOOD FOR EWEB CUSTOMERS,GOOD FOR OUR COMMUNITY <br /> Battery electric vehicles,or BEVs,use electricity stored in a battery pack to power an electric motor and <br /> turn the wheels.When depleted,the batteries are recharged using grid electricity,either from a wall <br /> socket or a dedicated charging unit.Since they don't run on gasoline or diesel and are powered entirely by <br /> electricity,battery electric cars and trucks are considered"all-electric"vehicles.EVs offer numerous <br /> environmental and economic benefits to consumers,including lower operating costs minimal <br /> maintenance,and no tailpipe emissions. <br /> As a Public Utility,EWEB views supporting transportation electrification as an important and smart <br /> solution towards community carbon reduction goals.EVs are a good choice for consumers in EWEB <br /> service territory as there is plenty of nearly 90%carbon free electricity,which is much cheaper than <br /> gasoline on a per mile basis.The Northwest grid has excess power,particularly at night when most EV <br /> owners charge their vehicles,and the more people using the electric system infrastructure already in place <br /> helps all EWEB customers economically by helping offset the fixed costs of doing business. <br /> *Exceptions may apply for general service"commercial"customers <br /> ENEB Z` o`'u', <br /> Electric Vehicle Program Info Sheet October 2016 page 1 of 1 <br />
