SPECIAL PROVISIONS FOR <br /> 2008 PAVEMENT PRESERVATION PROGRAM -SLURRY SEALS <br /> JOB #4510 <br /> <br /> 00120.15 Examination of Work Site and Solicitation Documents; Consideration of <br /> Conditions to be Encountered <br /> <br /> (ADD) ~ Inquiries regarding the plans, specifications, and contract documents shall be <br /> made to: Doug Singer - (541) 682-8460. ' <br /> 00130.10 Award of Contract <br /> (ADDS If the unit prices are excessively unbalanced in the judgment of the Engineer to <br /> the potential detriment of the City the proposal may be considered irregular and <br /> be rejected. <br /> 40130.90 Notice to Proceed <br /> (ADD) Notice to Proceed shall be issued not more than ten (10) Work days prior to <br /> beginning of work identified in approved Contractor's schedule. <br /> 00'150.15 Construction Stakes, Lines and Grades <br /> (ADD) The Engineer will locate all monuments in the field within the work area. The <br /> contractor shall be responsible to mask monuments to protect them prior to slurry <br /> seal application and responsible to unmask the monuments after slurry seal.. <br /> Monuments covered with slurry seal or damaged that were located in the field by <br /> the Engineer shall be uncovered and cleaned or replaced by the Contractor at <br /> the Contractor's expense. - <br /> 00180.40 Limitation of Operations <br /> (ADD) The Contractor shall complete the Area and Stage designated on each plan in <br /> one work day. The Contractor may combine and complete stages from different <br /> areas in one work day. The Contractor shall not combine two or more stages in <br /> the same area in one work day., The maximum comple#ed area of slurry seal <br /> allowed #or one work day shall be 27,000 square yards. <br /> 00180.41 Project Work Schedules <br /> (ADD) The daily work schedule shall specify the calendar day each project Area and <br /> Stage will be completed. <br /> 00180.50 Contract Time to Complete Work <br /> (ADD) Contractor shalt give the Engineer fifteen (15) Working days notice prior to <br /> starting work, at which time apre-construction meeting shall be scheduled. <br /> Surface preparation including HMAC surface repairs and crack sealant work shall <br /> be complete in ten (10) work days. HMAC. surface: repairs and crack sealant <br /> shall be completed no less than five (5) work days prior to slurry seal application. <br /> Slurry seal and striping work shall be completed in ten (10) work days. Work <br /> shall not start before July 7, 2008 and all work shall be-completed no later than <br /> August 29, 2008. <br /> Special Provisions -Job #4510 Page 1 <br /> <br />
