s
Lighting Improvements to Autzen Corridor $275,000
Autzen to footbridge including bridge

F Upgrade/install lighting along the pedestrian corridor and bike path.. 60' light spacing reduces
cost to $ISO,ooo. ~ 5302-
The group finalized the list balancing individual project budgets with the funding available from the
grant. The last project listed, Bike Path Lighting for the corridor from Autzen to and including the
footbridge, is a high priority. Replacing the lighting would be an important safety improvement and
it would greatly enhance the appearance of this key visitor corridor. However, it was agreed that
with the estimated cost, it will require additional funding from other sources. After funding the
other projects on the list, there is $112,000 remaining for this project.
Because of the ongoing need for a safe corridor for multiple community activities, the group
recommends that we seek additional funding to complete this high priority project. One strategy that
might be considered would be to pursue a partnership between the City, EWEB and the University
of Oregon to provide the balance of the funding for the project. If the lighting spacing is increased
to sixty feet, each agency's contribution would be between $20,000 and $30,000.
With your approval, the group is ready to move forward with the listed project as soon as funding is
received. We also ask for your input and help in establishing the partnership to fund the Autzen
corridor lighting improvements. If you have any questions please give Jeff or Sarah a call.

k
