0/05/2004 FRI 16:59 FAR 541 682 600 CITY EUGENE PW ENG ~-~~ VYILDISH CONSTRUCTION f~J003/028 <br />R <br /> <br />00180.50 CONTRACT TIME TO COMPLETE WORK <br />(ADD) The Contractor shall complete all work called for in the contract by September 4, 200x, <br />except above-ground street light work, above-ground traffic signal work, landscape <br />plantings, restoration work for Staging area #2, permanent seeding, and sidewalks south <br />of Commons Drive. The remaining work shall be completed by October 15, 2004 except <br />for above-ground traffic signal work. Above-ground traffic signal work shall be completed <br />by November 30, 2004. <br />The Contractor shall not perform any work on the days of University of Oregon home <br />football games and shall secure the work site and any storage/staging areas in a safe <br />and reasonable matter. Contractor is responsible for verifying game dates and any <br />schedule changes. <br />0~, 25.02 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br />(DELETE) From the Special Specifications, Item #2, the words "of AC pavement" and ", 2 inches <br />thick". <br />(ADD) The following: <br />10. Construct storm and sanitary sewers and backfill trench to existing pavement <br />or ground elevation prior to beginning roadway excavation. No construction <br />equipment shall be permitted to remain in the roadway after the end of each <br />workday- Trench backfill material placed above subgrade to the elevation of <br />the existing traveled surface shall be general backfill, suitable to support <br />traffic upon completion in all weather conditions. Patch and maintain <br />trenches in paved areas which are open to vehicular or pedestrian traffic <br />each day with cold mix AC 2 inches thick. Patching and patch maintenance <br />costs shall be incidental. This requirement does not apply to any street <br />closure areas. <br />Roadway excavation will be allowed after completion of each individual run of <br />sewer. <br />11. During the street excavation work, each day the Contractor shall excavate, <br />compact, and immediately place subgrade geotextile and base rock to <br />specified thickness and completely covering the excavated area in areas that <br />will be subjected to vehicular traffic. Do not excavate more roadway than <br />can be base rocked daily. Do not allow vehicular traffic on subgrade. The <br />Contractor will not be permitted to proceed with any further excavation each <br />day until the base rock has been constructed up to the limits of excavation <br />completed the previous work day as specified, to the satisfaction of the <br />Engineer. The contractor will be responsible for all dust control as specified <br />in the project specifications. If directed by the Engineer, apply an asphalt <br />emulsion dust palliative. Use CSS-1 or CSS-1H, diluted 5 parts H2O to 1 <br />part emulsion, applied to the base rock surtace with an asphalt distributor <br />meeting the requin;ments of Section 00105 at 0.15 gal/SY. Repeat <br />application as directed. Keep traffic off the treated surface until the emulsion <br />breaks. Measurement and payment for the asphalt emulsion dust palliative, <br />will be paid per application directed by the Engineer at the unit as indicated in <br />the Bid Schedule under the bid item "EMULSION DUST PALLIATIVE" added <br />by this addendum. <br />12. Place two reflectorized, plastic drums with amber flashers at each end of <br />each median as soon as the concrete median curb is constructed for each <br />median, until the nose painting, RPM's and signs are installed.
