Perform incipient motion calculations to provide an anticipated immobile particle
(stone) size during the design discharge for design of streambed and banks.
E. Develop Design Concepts and Renderings. For areas where the channel, or sections of the
channel, may be subject to high shear resulting in erosion, or varying land use areas,
recommend alternative approaches to control erosion and propose no more than two
alternative concepts for final design. Develop renderings for each alternative concept. For
each alternative, IF will develop renderings that show a plan view and a typical section.
The design concepts will incorporate features of natural channels including: channel
planform, channel cross-section geometry, hydraulic variability, in~stream habitat, and
riparian habitat. The design concepts will emphasize the use of natural materials including
riparian vegetation, rounded river rock, and large wood. The goal of the design concepts will
be to meet City objectives for stabilizing banks, preventing erosion, providing shade to reduce
water temperature, and improving riparian habitat.
F. Meet urith City to Discuss Alternatives. Prepare and meet with City staff to discuss the
alternatives.
G. Prepare Preliminary Design Memorandum. Prepare a design memorandum presenting
alternative enhancement options and recommendations.
H. Attend Initial Stakeholder Meeting. Prepare and meet with City staff, neighborhood residents,
and other Stakeholders to discuss recommendations. IF assumes City staff will coordinate
and facilitate this meeting. During the meeting, IF will assist City staff, as needed, to explain
the alternative enhancement options and to respond to questions.
I. Prepare Monthly Invoices. Prepare and submit monthly invoices and progress reports. Prepare
and maintain project file.
PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK
phase 2 DesiQrt
Phase 2 work will not commence until authorized by the City of Eugene.
Task 4 -Erosion Protection and Waterway Enhancement Design -Inter-F1uve, Inc. will work directly
with the City to develop plans and special specifications for the stream enhancement design selected
during Phase 1.
J. Develop 50% Design Plans. IF will prepare 50% design plans and a preliminary engineer's cost
estimate for the recommended design concept. The 50°k design plans will provide plan,
profile, and cross-section views for stations 0+00 to 1+15 and 3+50 to 4+80.
