_ 2 _ December 18, 2002 <br /> Task 2 -Perform Both Pavement Reconstruction and Overlay Structural Design Reports <br /> NCE will use the FWD data collected on the 3'~/4`~ Connector to develop a pavement design. <br /> Deflection data as well as core results and soil testing results will be analyzed for a standard asphaltic <br /> concrete reconstruction and overlay design and will be prepared in accordance with AASHTO design <br /> procedures. <br /> Typical design considerations and issues such as those below will be addressed and included in the <br /> designs: <br /> • Will base repairs be required? If so, how much? <br /> • Milling requirements <br /> Types of asphalt concrete to be used <br /> • Use of crack sealants <br /> • Use of pavement geotegtiles <br /> • Recommendations for failed areas (digouts) ` <br /> The recommendations will be summarized in a bound report and submitted to the City for review and <br /> comment. Following review of these items by the City, any necessary adjustments will be made and a <br /> final report will be submitted to the City. NCE proposes to complete the Draft Pavement Design <br /> Report by January 24, 2003 and submit it to the City.
