The Board's Pro~ect Manager w~lI be n~t~f~ed: <br />~a} 'When final projec~ design is developed an~ ini~ial cons~ruc~ion is scheduled; and <br />~b} ~L1'hen in~~xa~ cons~ruc~ion is scheduled for a si~e review with the cantractor; and <br />~c~ Just prior t~ Phase 3 Native plan~ings; and <br />~d} Just prior ~o Phase 5~eed con~roi; and <br />~e} Ju~~ prior ~o Phase 8 Replanting. <br />2. Special Grant Canditians: <br />The fo~lowing s~ecia~ condi~ions apply ~o ~he imp~ementation of t~is Agreemen~: <br />~a} As par~ of the Phase 3 plan~ing, ~he Grantee will install additional protection for ~he black <br />co~tonwood p~antings aga~nst damage from wild~ife. The pro~ection ~vi~l meet or exceed <br />the specif cations in Exhibit B Special Grant Condi~ians 2(b}, ~ <br />~b} Each tree shall be fenced wi~h 4 ft. taii wire fencing ~openings n~ larger than Z in. x 4 in,}, <br />such that the fence forms a 3 ft. diame~er enclosure, The fen:cing should be s~aked dawn <br />with two 5 ft. -~ 6 ft. posts that are pounde~ into ~he ground a minimum of 12 in. deep. <br />The fencing shal~ be secure~ so that there is no gap be~ween the ground and the bottom of <br />the fence, I~ is e~sential to make sure the fence is flush wi~h the graund and that ~~ is <br />securely a~tached since larger beaverlnutria may try to force their way under. ~Vhen <br />fencing trees on the slopes, ~rim the bo~tom of ~he fence as needed to a~iow it to sit flush to <br />~he ground all the way around the trees. <br />~c} $5,000 ~s ~nc~uded in ~he Con~rac~ed Services ex~ense categary to p~o~ide ~his pro~ect~on <br />for the 2Q0 black cottonwoods at the es~ima~ed cost of $25 per tree. However, ~he <br />protection described above shaZi be provi~.ed by ~he Grantee ~egardless of the cost per ~ree <br />or the to~al cost. <br />3. Effectiveness Monitoring Canditions: <br />The following special condx~ions app~y to the effec~iveness mon~toring of ~h~s pro ject: <br />~a} Grantee will forwa~~ ~o ~~VEB's P~ojec~ Manager the resu~ts of any mon~~oring on or near <br />the project site relating to usage af the si~e and of the immediate suraroundings by beaver <br />or ~h~nook salmon.
