S
be retained for possible laboratory testing. We have assumed that the cuttings will
be drummed and hauled off site.
Laboratory Testin4. The laboratory testing will include natural water contents and
Atterberg limits tests on selected samples to classify the foundation soils and
estimate their overall engineering properties.
Engineering • Memorandum, We will summarize our findings in an engineering
memorandum. The memorandum will include a description of our work, a discussion
of site conditions, the log for the exploratory borehole and a summary of the
laboratory test results. Recommendations will be provided for pile foundations
including recommended pile section, allowable axial capacities, estimated tip
elevations, and lateral pile capacity. Recommendations for construction of the
foundations, including minimum hammer energy, driving criteria and requirements for
pile tip protection will also be provided.
ESTIMATED COSTS
We have estimated a cost of $8,000 for the proposed scope of work. We propose
to conduct the work on a time and expense basis with this not-to-exceed amount.
We will notify you immediately following the fieldwork in the event we encounter
unanticipated soil conditions that would require modifying our proposed scope of
work and .associated costs.
• SCHEDULE
We are prepared to begin work immediately upon notification to proceed. We expect
that the subsurface exploration could be completed within one day. An additional
two weeks would be required for the laboratory testing, engineering analysis and
report preparation. Therefore, you should allow approximately three weeks for
completion of our report. We will provide interim information to the project engineer
as soon as it becomes available. Our first task, 'upon authorization to proceed, would
be to locate underground utilities and coordinate the field exploration.
We appreciate the opportunity to submit this proposal and look forward to the
possibility of working with you on this project. Please do not hesitate to call if you
have any questions regarding the proposed scope of work, estimated costs, or
schedule.
Sincerely,
FOUNDATION ENGINEERWG, INC.
David L.
