Broadway
Eugene, OR 97401
Attention: Mr. Seward Meintsma
Proposal
Pavement Engineering Services
Various Sites
Eugene, Oregon
GeoDesign Project: Eugene-4-O1
INTRODUCTION
GeoDesign, Inc. is pleased to submit this proposal for pavement engineering services for the
City of Eugene, Oregon. This proposal is for pavement rehabilitation analysis consisting of falling
weight deflectometer (FWD} testing, subsurface explorations, equivalent single-axle load (ESA!_)
calculations, and overlay analysis on the following city streets:
• North Bertelsen from Royal Avenue to Roosevelt Boulevard, approximately 1,800 feet
• Seneca Road from West 7th Avenue to West 11th Avenue, approximately 1,300 feet
• North Danebo Avenue from Roosevelt Boulevard to West 11th Avenue, approximately
2,500 feet
• Oakway Road from Cai Young Road to Coburg Road, approximately 4,800 feet
• Chambers Street from Railroad Boulevard to West 7th Avenue, approximately 5,700 feet
• East 23rd Avenue from Patterson Street to Hilyard Street, approximately 450 feet
• North Terry Street from Barger Drive to end of street, approximately 3,900 feet
BACKGROUND AND APPROACH
From information provided by Mr. Seward Meintsma, we understand that the City is considering
rehabilitation of the above listed road sections. We have completed a preliminary evaluation of
the existing pavements at the site. There is limited potential for overlay on these road sections
due to curbs and existing grades. Distress is predominately limited to transverse cracking and _
raveling in the travel sections. There is also instances of isolated fatigue cracking in some areas.
A more detailed survey of the pavements will assist in completing this evaluation.
