Below is a line by line summary of what I'm able
to reimburse the City for on bahalf of MWMC. I'm assuminging that reimbursement by journal entry is the way to go. If so, `;
you may charge $1139.75 to account code 533-8764-61734 for items #1-3.
1. Repair damage to existing Zone 3 lateral line near MWMC temporary construction sign at MWMC entrance. Repair
was required to maintain Zone 3 functionality. Damage was caused by MWMC contractor during sign installation. $75
2. Replace irrigation control wires from mowstrip (approx. 70' south of multiuse path) to splice location at Valve E. Wires
were damaged by MWMC Contractor during excavation for new fence mowstrip along service entrance. Install wires in
method and route as agreed upon. MWMC will pay City now and seek reimbursement from contractor. $608
3. Add new plantings as shown on revised sheet L2.6 View L. Work for this additional planting shall be completed
under existing unit prices. I didn't have enough information to go by to have a full understanding of this .item. You
indicated that deductions were applied to installation of additional heads and piping on Zones C, 5, 8, 10, and 11 and so --:,
they cannot be applied to the plantings cost. If, in fact, MWMC was responsible for extra costs for heads and piping in the(
zones mentioned that deductions were applied to then MWMC will reimburse for plantings. Please doublecheck that
MWMC would have been responsible for the additional heads and piping in Zones C, 5, 8, 10, and 11 before including this : .
item. $456.75
I'm unable to authorize reimbursement for additional heads for Zone E. ($1209)
Install 7 additional rotor heads for Zone E to provide head-to-head irrigation coverage in large lawn. The design as shown
on the plans replaced the eight heads in the same approximate original configuration. The heads were replaced at our
request because they did not provide head-to-head coverage. You indicated that the original heads did not provide head-
to-head coverage. There must have been a misunderstanding about this because we never had any problem with the
coverage of the original heads. My understanding is that Marc Furney did not say that the original. heads did not provide
head-to-head coverage. It appears that the lack of coverage of the replacement heads is because their specifications did
not match the performance of the original heads. We'll need to discuss this one further if you wish.
From: RAMIREZ Joe F
Sent: Tuesday, October 23, 2007 7:40 AM
To: CORNELISON Dennis E; BREITENSTEIN Dave A; ANDERSON Todd A; WATKINS Greg A
Cc: CAHILL Michelle R
Subject: FW: River Avenue Irrigation and landscape extras
Dennis,
Please review our responses to your understanding of the repairs and additions. Let me know how MWMC wants to
address these items.
