Some will focus on pulling the starts from a
site where ivy was removed last year, and some will tackle old growth ivy. The project is part of
an ongoing effort to restore native habitat at the park by removing invasive species and giving
native plants a chance to thrive, as outlined in the Skinner Butte Park Master Plan adopted in
2002. The plan is available on the web at www.ci.eugene.or.us/PW/PARKS/SBP/sbpmplan.htm.
Interested participants should meet organizers at the play structure on the north side of
Skinner Butte Park, off of Cheshire Street, for instructions. Volunteers are encouraged to wear
work clothes and shoes and be prepared for rainy weather. Stream Team will provide tools,
gloves and snacks. For more information, call 682-4850 or 913-1292.
I
I
