Funds from the 1998 Parks and Open Space bond measure <br /> are available to provide some improvements to south Eugene's most popular and heavily-used <br /> park. <br /> Over 60 community members attended the first workshop in September. A report of the <br /> tIL <br /> results of this meeting is available at <br /> http://www.ci.eugene.or.us/PW/PARKS/Amazon/AMZ_ws1rpt.pdf. A draft development plan, <br /> based on the diverse input gathered at the first meeting and additional input, will be presented <br /> at tomorrow's meeting. The plan identifies long-range and short-range priorities for the park. <br /> The current Amazon Park planning process is designed to prioritize improvement projects <br /> to help determine how to spend the available bond measure funds and update the existing <br /> master plan, based on more current public input. <br /> The community park includes a large playground, pool facility, ballfields, a running trail, bike <br /> path, off-leash dog park, skatepark, and natural areas.
