Work is progressing on schedule at Oakmont Park <br /> Shadow Wood Park <br /> Phase:Project complete <br /> Skyview Park <br /> Phase:Project complete <br /> Sterling Woods Park <br /> Phase:Future <br /> Trainsong Park <br /> Phase: Construction <br /> Park and playground improvements are nearly complete at Trainsong Park,which has been under <br /> construction since late June. The most visible improvement to this park is an upgraded and expanded play <br /> area which will increase the accessibility of the playground and expand the use to accommodate very <br /> young children(2-to 5-year-olds). Also included in the work are an upgraded baseball field,new <br /> sidewalks,an art tile hopscotch,new irrigation,new picnic tables and benches,and new lighting and <br /> landscaping. Construction is scheduled for completion in late September. <br /> Walnut Grove Park <br /> Phase:In progress <br /> Construction of at least a portion of Walnut Grove park is anticipated for 2004. Priority improvements <br /> include fencing off the protected habitat area for the endangered western pond turtle which will allow park <br /> users access to the remaining portion of the park site which is currently fenced off. Construction of a"zig <br /> zag"bridge over Flat Creek to provide neighborhood connectivity to the park is also a priority. The"zig <br /> zag"bridge is the result of a 1%for Art selection process conducted for POS bond measure projects. <br /> RIDGELINE PARK EXPANSION Ridgeline Acquisition <br /> Increasing access points to the Ridgeline system <br /> has been one of the planning goals guiding the <br /> acquisition program,and significant II Goal <br /> improvements have been made in the Laurel Hill ■Competed <br /> Valley,Southeast,and Churchill neighborhoods.
