1985: May 21st to July 26th/ 15 days. City crews cleaned from west of Bertelsen to <br /> Beltline. Private contractor (Willamette Quarries) was hired to clean the <br /> channel from Beltline to Spectra Physics and to excavate an area in the flood <br /> plain at Spectra Physics to enlarge a basin and extend a pond area. <br /> 1986: August 28th from October 29th. City crews cleaned from 24th to Fox Hollow <br /> Road. Private contractor was hired to repair the slide area west of Fir Butte <br /> Road and to clean the channel from Greenhill Road to the Diversion Dam. <br /> April 16th to November 10th. City crews cleaned from Fox Hollow to Snell, <br /> repaired bank sloughing from Hilyard to Fox Hollow and removed trees (by <br /> hand) from 30th to 32nd. Crews also cleaned the channel from the south side <br /> between Friendly and Van Buren. The CAT was placed in the channel to <br /> remove an island at Van Buren. Private contractor was hired to repair a wash- <br /> out over a sanitary sewer line on the west bank of the Amazon near West 36th <br /> Ave. to widen the section of bank opposite the washed-out 12E: City crews cleaned the lined section on August 23 and 24, and repaired bank <br /> sloughing from Fox Hollow to Snell. <br /> 1989: City crews cleaned A-3 from Seneca to Wallis. Cleaned main channel from <br /> Polk to Chambers. Contract cleaning was the A-3 from Bertelsen to Beltline; <br /> A-2 from Beltline to Golden Gardens; and the Amazon Channel from Royal to <br /> Greenhill. <br /> 1990: City crews cleaned the Amazon Channel between Chambers Street and Buck <br /> Street. Contract cleaning was Diversion Channel from Royal to Greenhill. <br /> 1991: City crews cleaned the Amazon Channel from Oak Patch to W. 11th. <br /> 1992: City crews cleaned the Amazon Channel from W 11th to Beltline. Lane <br /> County used jail inmates to clear bevy vines along the Amazon at the <br /> fairgrounds. <br /> June - First Amazon Appreciation Day. Volunteers picked up litter and <br /> debris on section from Jefferson to City View. <br /> 1993: City crews cleaned the following areas of the Amazon; 24th Ave - 300 ft south <br /> and 200 ft north of W 11th, and 200 ft south of W 11th. Slide repairs at 500 <br /> ft west of Chambers, and the west bank north of 33rd. <br /> June - Amazon Appreciation Day. Volunteers picked up litter and debris on <br /> section from Hilyard to E 24th Ave. <br /> July - Work party. Volunteers removed woody vegetation from 29th Ave to E <br /> 31st Ave. City chipped and hauled. <br />
