MEMORANDUM
Date: February 28, 1994
From: Bob Hammitt
To: Chris Andersen, Linda Norris
Subject: WEST UNIVERSITY PARK SHELTER
Public Works Maintenance Division and Recreation Division staff have concluded
that the most beneficial location for the West University Park shelter is at
the Shasta softball complex, 4650 Barger Drive. The placement of this shelter
will be an improvement to the facility that will assist in raising revenues,
enhance the concession operation, provide a place for tournament headquarters,
and provide shelter for participants from sun and rain. Staff have discussed
the relocation with the Shasta Middle School principal and he in turn is going
to discuss it with Tim Keeley, Assistant Superintendent for Bethel School
District. Due to the fact that it is in the middle of City of Eugene/school
district property, its seems non controversial and we do not plan to notify
surrounding neighbors or Councilor Green.
If you think it would be beneficial , we could put a short note in this
Friday's Council newsletter. Otherwise, I guess go ahead and inform
Councilor Hornbuckle.
