Chris Andersen signed
the administrative order closing the park, and she has agreed that we can ask police not to enforce the
park closure during the hours used by the U of 0 class. This also means that we cannot enforce the park
closed rules against any other person that might choose to use the park during this time period.
A park use permit may be obtained by contacting Dick Morgan, at 1820 Roosevelt Blvd. Someone will
need to fill out the park use permit request. Dick can be contacted by phone at 682-4800. Since the
University of Oregon is another governmental agency, we will waive the park use permit fee. Let us know
the specific hours of use requested and the approximate number of people involved when the park use
permit request is made.
Please feel free to contact me at 682-4800 if you have additional questions.
From: Bobby W. The class
wants to gather ideas from the public (mostly students) to look at how to
utilize this park that is currently closed due to crime related problems.
The class is requesting the usage of the University Park from 9am to 5pm,
although they will probably utilize the location for only 3 or 4 hours.
The date of this request is for November 1 5th.
Can we do this?
Bobby Lee
Page 1
