These cans have historically been the responsibility of the maint. staff at Westmoreland <br /> and has been on a contract between Athletics and the Disk Golf Association. The center generates revenue <br /> from the sale of Disks and in lieu of Tournament fees, Athletics had in place a contract with the Assoc. to <br /> pick up trash and dispose of litter. Neither the Center maint. staff or the Assoc has reliably delt with the <br /> garbage and frequently the Riverside crew has responded. In my opinion this is similar to the Lamb <br /> Cottage issue. This service should be provided by those generating the revenue, even to the point that the <br /> Riverside crew discontinue providing the supply of cans. At this point my crews only responsibility is to <br /> the Tennis courts. Feedback from Westmoreland, and at the time Bonner was their supervisor , was that <br /> the maint. staff had no way of disposing of the garbage and that it was to heavy for them to lift. If they <br /> use liners and inspect and/or empty on a daily basis and dispose of trash back at the Center's dumpster I <br /> don't see this as a problem.
