The California oat grass seed is <br /> mature and ready to be collected in the last week of June or first week of July. I understand the position <br /> you're in relative to the neighbor complaints about the grass, but at the same time, this whole issue of <br /> seed collecting sites (or the lack thereof) for wetland restoration projects is a major issue. In a way, the <br /> area west of the community center is especially valuable for seed collecting because since it is not an area <br /> recieving any special protection, we don't need to be as concerned about the impacts of collecting the <br /> seeds on the populations as we might be at a more pristine site. So, it seems that there are some policy <br /> issues here related to the use of city lands for seed collecting that should probably be discussed.
