aroma, I don't think it is really representative of our community. Up
to 90 percent of our neighborhood is involved in the off-leash program.
If we were really asking what the community wants it would include the
program. The plan does not include the program, and that is what the
community really wants.
This is an opportunity to comment and change the plan. We want ideas and
comments and will adjust the plan.
Ms. Penny stated that she did not understand how restoring a filbert orchard
or adding picnic tables would affect the off-leash program.
I don't have a dog and I am turned-off by the off-lease issue. I would
like to see the park left in a "wild" state instead of a "tame" state.
A timeline has not been developed; however, those interested were encouraged
to add their names to a list of interested persons.
Is it safe to say that any plan that is developed will not conflict with
any decisions made by the Parks and Recreation Commission?
It is safe to say that Parks and Recreation will not conflict with existing
decisions made about the park.
What can we do to preserve the memory of Wayne Morse and the risks he
took in his life? There is also a legitimate need for people to meet
under the oaks and play with their pets. If the plan does not include
the off-leash need, the City should provide this opportunity elsewhere.
There should not be a feature prohibiting access. This property
is a gift and should be used generously. It could have been sold
to developers at a profit, but through great effort it is to be
used as a park.
On the northside, toward Crest Drive, it should have a playground
for children like Willard School .
There should be a museum to preserve the memory of Wayne Morse,
who he was and his history.
Tennis courts could be implemented into the plan.
I believe the City is obligated to meet the off-leash program needs of
the public.
I want to thank the City and the Board for the plan. It takes work and
effort to develop a plan. I support the environmental and educational
asge, t of the plan. Regarding the stream and woodlands, there are two
options presented in the plan. It seems one is to preclude use and the
other may include more public use. There is mention of an 8 foot
walkway along each side in Option One. One problem with that idea is
that a portion of the meadow actually extends 60 feet from each side of
the street especially in the wintertime, requiring some sort of board
