JENNINGS Carrie A
From: JENNINGS Carrie A
To: ANDERSEN Chris F
Cc: MORGAN Dick A
Subject: Morse Ranch
Date: Friday, March 22, 1996 2:06PM
FROM: Bob Hammitt
Dick Morgan and I had a discussion this morning to strategize an appropriate action plan. The comment
period closes today. To date, Dick has received six letters mostly containing comments that we have
previously heard. There is nothing substantial enough to cause a change in our plan. The following action
plan assumes that nothing of significance will be submitted today.
The first step is to get the new access trail at the NE corner of the park constructed. The problem we are
facing is that due to heavy rains and the impact of the snow fall, the slope is very soft. Even with several
days of dry weather it will remain too soft to place any equipment on it without substantial damage. Our
plan is to construct the trail next week using hand labor. This is dependant on decent weather. If it is still
very wet we will have to postpone that activity until the following week. The week immediately following
the initial trail construction will be used to complete the other details of the project; such as, painting the
curbs, closing off the gate, and installing signage. If the weather cooperates, our time frame for
completing all the work should be fairly rapid. Our goal will be to have the work completed by May 1.
We will be using our wetland specialist to work on the project as concern has been voiced about the
sensitivity of the area.
Arlene Marshall and Greg Hoard have both recently contacted Dick curious about the comments. Dick let
them know that to this date there is nothing substantial and that we anticipate moving forward with the
project as planned. Dick has also let them know that it is weather dependent so they are aware and
understanding of that fact.
Page 1
