BOLES.RFT Page 1
I believe that you received a call from Carol Bruhl about the removal of the picnic tables from Washinton/Jefferson
Park by the horseshoe pits. The removal of the tables was done to enable the maintenance crew to refurbish the
tables for the upcoming summer season. This has been our practice for all the parks for many years. After speaking
with Ms. Bruhl on 4/14 at about 9:30 am and understanding her personal needs for the picnic tables being in a set
location (she said that she is blind) , I assured her that a table would be put back that day. A table was in fact back in
place by 1:30 pm. Another issue that has come to our attention since the tables have been removed is the serving of
food to the homeless by a group called "Make Food, Not Bombs". My concern with this matter centers around the
need for a Food Handling permit and a restaurant License to serve food. I have been trying and will continue to try
and make contact with the groups representative to ensure that they do in fact have the appropriate license and
permits. I hope this answers any questions that you have about these matters. If you would like more information, my
phone number is 465-2683.
