Hang in there! We had a house
fire at one point in our lives and had to move out for 5 months. I remember the unending decisions that
had to be made instantly.
Would one of you either call Mylie Carter with this update or drop her a note please. Sending her a copy of
this memo to me is fine. I am going to Phoenix,AZ tomorrow and will be gone this week - and then onto
Washington DC next week.
I will follow up with Mylie when I return.
Mylie's phone # is 344-1335 I don't have her addres - she lives on Agate. 02/i Z
As you can see, I also did not get back to her even though I had great intentions. Thanks for your help.
Laurie
From: JENNINGS Carrie A
To: *Councilor Swanson Gribskov
Cc: DILLER Della M
Subject: Washburn Park
Date: Wednesday, November 22, 1995 5:05PM
FROM: Bob Hammitt
I apologize for not getting back to you regarding the funding plan for the irrigation system replacement at
Washburn Park. I have been totally consumed by fire recovery.
As you probably recall, the estimate was $55,000 for irrigation system replacement at Washburn Park.
The tentative plan is to give this project a high priority due to the urban forester's assessment that
additional unique trees may be lost due to the lack of irrigation. Installing irrigation will not save those
trees already dead, and probably not those already showing significant stress.
Our goal is to have irrigation installed before the 1996 dry season. In order to fund the project we will
have to postpone some other funded projects such as, the Skinners Butte Rd overlay project, and some
drainage projects. We also plan to use the money ($16,000) recovered from insurance when the Spencer
CiuTf`etroo'-6urned a couple of years ago. This occurred during the Eugene Decisions process and
reduction in park services. Since the restroom was at a remote location, it was vandalized often and was a
high maintenance item.
I have not had a chance to discuss this plan with Chris yet, so it is only a plan at this time. I hope it
provides you with the info you need. I will likely be working most of Friday and can be reached at
687-5221, or you can reach me at home, 688-6084 if you need additional info.
I wanted to thank you for your concern and thoughts expressed at the council meeting regarding the fire.
Knowing that Councilors are thinking of us means a lot.
IZtfNo _ 7144,1 aff w77,404) LvGi; v, , 60",t4,`s c
4,0
Page 1
