At some
time in the past, most of you have been involved in planning issues on the site (it contains a breeding
population of western pond turtles), so I have not included a map. The site is in northwest Eugene, on the
east side of the Northwest Expressway, just south of the Maxwell Connector. The habitat management
plan will be used as a guide by the Maintenance Division, which has agreed to manage the site.
We intend to develop this plan with as much input as possible from all of you, and if you have suggestions
from others who could provide pertinent information, please let me know. If you do not wish to provide
input into the plan, please let me know that as well, and I will not send further faxes.
I ask, at a minimum, that you review the attached draft Table of Contents, and provide input to me by
January 24th(Friday noon). I will be seeking review of the draft plan when it is completed around
February 13.
Thank
3-
Thank you for your assistance and comments.
Cordially,' `
Dig_
Bruce Newhouse, AICP
cc: Surma Murray, Development Division
Johnny Medlin, Maintenance Division
Deborah Evans, Engineering Division
Bill Castillo, ODFW
Esther Lev, Wildlife Biologist
Kat Beal, US Army Corps of Engineers
Ed Alverson, TNC
Dan Gleason, Lane County Audubon Society
Ethen Perkins, Botanist
Inventory, research, and planning for wetlands, forest lands, and other natural resources-
