Tugman cover figure. The
30,000 is correct and the attached shows a rough breakdown of what yardage
he thinks might need to go where. I do believe we need to budget at least
a place holder item in the FY-94 CIP in 011 for this project.
Johnny
ATTACHED NOTE
Date: 05/27/92 CERMJFE - RIS1
From: John Etter CEWMJRM - RIS1
To: Johnny Medlin
Subject: Tugman
Based on what I've picked up so far, a substantial covering effort will come
out of the next recommendation/requirement. The cap over 4 acres is almost
non-existent in places. I'm guessing they will recommend building it to 2
feet. 2 feet over 4 acres is about 13000 yards. The bank area could ideally
use an average of about 6 feet over one acre, or almost 10000 yards; deeper
there to provide contouring that would allow better maintenance. In suggesting
another 7000 yards, I envisioned providing some contouring that would help
create an area suitable for snow play when those conditions permit.
I am also assuming that the heavy Amazon soils will be looked on favorable as
capping material by the consultants. If we have to go farther for cover
material , then the price will really go up.
The Amazon Channel improvement, as envisioned by Jeff Kruger, would probably
only get funded to the extent that the recommendations that would be a part
of the storm water quality study solution. Not likely that it would suggest
a lot of change, if any, to the upper Amazon. So it will only progress to the
extent that Tugman funding demands a certain solution.
Chuck Solin is working on an RFP with the city attorney, and it should be going
out soon. My suggestion for the CIP would be to show an SWAGed amount of
funding in FY 94, which we might revise in the late fall , when I think the next
study might identify the exact solutions, for which better estimates can be
made.
