r
1::
April 22, 2005
Johnny Medlin s:
Director of Parks and Open Space g
1820 Roosevelt Blvd.
Eugene, OR 97404
Dear Mr. Medlin:
l4
I contacted the City Manager, as you suggested, about the reversal of the sale of our r,
property on River Loopl. I believe they are asking the Public Works Director to respond
to my "request" of reversing the sale of this property. ,
As we discussed, this property was purchased against our will, by the city's represenative
lying to us and threatening the use of immanent domain. You verbally expressed regret
over the situation and that you were not involved earlier in the purchase of property for
parks.
E?
xr
At this point would you please contact the Public Works Director and let him know how
you feel.
The City's park program will not die without our 4 acres, but it is a very important part
of our lives. We need more room to spread out nursery stock and we were never
compensated for loss of income or loss of value to the remainder of our property. This
has greatly affected our lives.
I see this as an opportunity for the City to rebuff the stigma of Big City Government:
"We'll do what we want regardless of the wishes of the people."
I feel your input would be invaluable considering our conversation here. Please do
everything in your power to right this great wrong.
Thank you,
Harold Ogren
500 Terra Linda Ave
Eugene, OR 97404
689-1387
