The garden shed has a kiosk for display of <br /> information, including flyers from the two closest neighborhood associations, <br /> Amazon Neighbors and South University Neighborhood Association. <br /> The work is part of the second Neighborhood Matching Grant to the cemetery <br /> association. TheyInk <br /> have excavated and refilled an electrical service trench from the <br /> gazebo to the maintenance shop, installed the upper and lower <br /> ornamental railing, repaired uneven sections of the paver pathway, <br /> `filled depressions in the gravel walkways, placed and planted five <br /> lanters around the gazebo, and installed two donor benches and <br /> several donor bricks along the pergola pathway. This final push is in <br /> 11 <br /> preparation for the formal dedication of the gazebo on June 6 at a <br /> special club meeting. ` <br /> ISI -_ t <br /> The rotary club adopted Owen Rose Garden as a community service — <br /> project in 1999. Since then, the group has donated countless hours IN - <br /> to the beautification of the public garden which is located next to the Willamette River. In addition to constructing the <br /> new gazebo, and in conjunction with Parks and Open Space staff, the club has decorated the garden with trellises and <br /> constructed rose bed borders, a paver pathway and a large pergola to adorn the walkway with climbing roses. To <br /> purchase a personalized brick, slate tile or planter in the garden or for more information about the dedication or project, <br /> call Park Development Coordinator Carrie Peterson at 682-4907. <br /> Willamette Greenway Permit Application for Skinner Butte Park Approved <br /> On May 5, the Eugene Public Hearings Official approved a Willamette Greenway permit for Skinner Butte Park. The <br /> approved Greenway permit application covers multiple projects that will begin in the park this summer as part of the <br /> recently adopted Skinner Butte Park Master Plan. Most of the projects involve habitat restoration, redevelopment of <br /> existing park areas and improved public access for the park. All of these projects closely align with Willamette Greenway <br /> land use goals. <br /> The application was prepared by Parks and Open Space Planning staff over the last 12 months and involved continued <br /> outreach to the stakeholders who participated in the extensive park master planning process. About 15 people attended <br /> a public hearing for the Greenway permit application on April 9.
