The $2275 price tag for the trip includes <br /> lodging, airfare, group meals, homestay opportunities, transportation on the Bullet Train, local express trains, <br /> entertainment, and a ferry ride. The trip will include a four-day stay in Kakegawa with homestay families, followed by a <br /> six-day tour of Hiroshima, Ehime prefecture, and Kyoto. <br /> A shorter trip (Kakegawa only) is also available for$1450 for those with limited time or a tight budget. Delegates to <br /> Kakegawa only will returns to Eugene on October 13. A down payment of$1000 is required by July 15; final payment is <br /> due September 1. Timing for the delegation was chosen to correspond with Kakegawa's Great Festival"O-Matsuri" <br /> which includes dancing of the biggest lion costume in Japan. For further information about the Sister Cities Program, please contact Mary <br /> Walston, City Manager's Office, 682-5406. <br /> Commercial Solid Waste and Recycling Rate Increase Proposed <br /> Included in the Council packet is a copy of the proposed administrative rule that increases collection rates for commercial <br /> solid waste and recycling customers. This is the first time the rates have been reviewed under the council's direction to <br /> combine residential and commercial rates for the purpose of rate calculation. There would be no increase for residential <br /> customers. <br /> For the first time since 1991, commercial collection rates would increase. The proposed rates include a new category for <br /> business customers using a residential-style container; restructure the bin rates to encourage efficient collection; and <br /> increase drop box rates.
