Message Page 1 of 1
PICADO Therese M
From: JONES Eric R
Sent: Friday, April 04, 2003 4:00 PM
To: BELLMORE Mike
Cc: KREGER Troy D; PICADO Therese
Subject: RE: More Trees for concrete
Sorry, I've been out of the office most of the week at the APWA conference. Definitely a good idea to get this
items to the public affairs staff with enough lead time to accommodate situations like we had today. Hopefully,
your event will go well tomorrow, Troy. If you're looking for media coverage (given that there's no way to get out
information to the public ahead of time at this point), call KEZI at 485-5778, KMTR at 741-2097, and KVAL at 342-
4905 on Saturday a.m. and see if you can get someone in the newsroom to tell them about the planting.
Good luck!
EricJ
Original Message
From: BELLMORE Mike
Sent: Friday, April 04, 2003 12:36 PM
To: JONES Eric R
Cc: KREGER Troy D
Subject: More Trees for concrete
Eric, Troy asked me to forward this information to you with the hope that you could fine tune it a bit and get
it out to the media. Sorry for the short notice but it's a busy time of year for tree planters.
Mike
Thanks to the efforts of Eugene Tree Foundation volunteers, a section of street right of way on East 18th
between Oak and Pearl is going to have 10 new trees planted this Saturday. ETF has agreed to
pay $2,500 for the removal of concrete and the preparation of the planting strip. This event is part of an
ongoing partnership between the City of Eugene's NeighborWoods Program, ETF and area businesses
and residents. If you would like to lend a hand, please plan on meeting at the NeighborWoods Canopy,
which will be assembled on East 18th. Planting starts at 9:00 am.
4/5/03
