Ex,Id,otx 01ti s <br /> Wastewater Division's environmental management system (EMS) objectives and targets. <br /> Substantial achievements were made in almost all target areas, which means the division was <br /> able to improve its environmental performance and reduce negative impacts resulting from <br /> wastewater treatment activities. <br /> Hi'klights of the results include a 44% reduction in the consumption of paper goods, 12.4% <br /> Ablik.. <br /> re , don in the consumption of fuel, and a 5% reduction in the use of electrical power at the <br /> main wastewater treatment plant. In addition, the division did well in its recycling efforts and <br /> stayed on track with progress on the other targets. Two " 1 "t <br /> years ago, a portion of the Ridgeline Trail east of Blanton <br /> 4Pt <br /> Road, which travels through an area that is wet year-round, was <br /> , <br /> • <br /> identified as needing to be stabilized. This trail was 15 feet ' <br /> wide in some places, as people tried to avoid the wettest part at <br /> the base of the hill by traveling off-trail over sticks and logs. ,, v <br /> The project, which involved the construction of a raised ' I' <br /> boardwalk over the wet area, lent itself to Boy Scout <br /> involvement as scouting groups often use the trail. <br /> Rattenborg worked with parks staff to plan and coordinate the Parents and scouts help^lay the foundation for a new <br /> project which involved organizing a labor force, choosing a date <br /> for the work parties, assembling materials, and soliciting in-kind donations.
