On the other side of town at Alton
Baker Park, another group will be digging up blackberries and planting native plants at the
ponds in front of the Science Factory. The City of Eugene's NeighborWoods program is
coordinating the tree planting, and the Stream Team Program is coordinating the habitat
restoration project.
NeighborWoods is a volunteer program that brings together neighbors, businesses and
other groups to plant and care for street trees. The Stream Team Program offers volunteers the
opportunity to restore, care for and learn more about the city's waterways and natural areas. For
more information about this and other projects, contact NeighborWoods at 682-4831 or Stream
Team at 682-4850.
###
