This report updates the status of various bond measure projects and °` <br /> also provides an update on park projects funded through other sources of revenue.In <br /> general,work is proceeding steadily on the POS bond projects,with the focus <br /> increasingly on neighborhood park development,including the planning necessary to <br /> integrate neighborhood priorities with the broader community vision for parks and open space. <br /> CITYWIDE AND REGIONAL PROJECTS <br /> The bond measure identified eight projects to <br /> Community/Regional Park Facilities develop or improve community-wide recreation <br /> facilities.The City's partnership with School <br /> •Goal District 4J expanded that total to nine projects. <br /> �- ®Completed Four projects are completed,including the youth <br /> ��� O In progress sports parks and Amazon Pool. Four projects are <br /> 0 2 4 6 8 OPlanning in progress,and only one project(Amazon <br /> Number of Projects ballfields)remains in the planning phase. <br /> Alton Baker Park <br /> Phase: Construction/post construction <br /> Boat Ramp Project: On August 16,Delta Construction submitted the successful low bid on the boat ramp <br /> project and the U.S.Army Corps of Engineers and Oregon Division of State Lands gave their approval for <br /> the project to proceed.By early September,the project was well underway,the asphalt road and parking <br /> area was paved on October 24,and by the end of October the project is expected to be substantially <br /> completed,with only landscaping remaining to be finished in November. <br /> Dog Park:On Saturday,August 10,the new location for the Alton Baker dog off leash area was officially <br /> opened.Prior to the grand opening,access improvements were made from the designated parking lot <br /> across the canoe canal to the entry of the dog park.Concurrently,public vehicular access was limited in the <br /> park at the juncture of Day Island Road and Leisure Lane by the placement of bollards in compliance with <br /> the adopted park master plan. <br /> (kw, POS Quarterly Update: 10/31/02 1 <br />
