The leaf pick -up program has been provided to the community since
the 1960's as a means of reducing flooding and impacts to the street system.
Eliminating this program would have far reaching consequences that the
community would have to be willing to accept and support before this could occur. ,
22. Expand fuel capacity at yard.
Currently there is no plan on expanding fuel capacity at the Roosevelt yard.
Current demand levels are being met with existing fuel quantities. A feasibility
study has been completed on a proposed new Fleet Facility that would include
additional tanks for other future fuel sources such as E85.
23. Expand fuel customers EWEB, SUB, etc.
Fleet Services continues to engage in discussions with other local public agencies to
assess the viability of allowing partner agencies access to our fuel system. EWEB
has decided to build their own fuel depot as part of their new maintenance facility.
Recently talks have taken place with River Rd parks district, but they made the
decision not to move forward with using our fueling facility at this time.
24. Idle timers on all vehicles, limit to 5 minutes.
The City of Eugene has recently adopted a no idle /no top off policy for all City
owned vehicles.
