w
TIME FRAME FOR DECISION MAKING
The Eugene Code, Section 6.519 requires a notice to be published
three times in a newspaper of general circulation in the city to
all owners and persons in charge of property regarding their duty
to keep their porperty free of obnoxious vegetation. The notice
must also reference the amount of the fee charged if the City
abates the nuisance(s). The publications must be between May 1
and June 15th. Mowing season begins June 15th and the Eugene Code
requires abatement to begin 10 or more days after publication.
The Public Works Department publishes their last notice on or before
June 5th in order to begin abatement by June 15th.
If changes are to be made in the charges for weed mowing, a reso-
lution should be introduced to the City Council for approval of
those changes no later than the first two weeks in May.
-12-
