It was found to have obnoxious vegetation in excess of the <br />10 -inch height allowed by City Ordinance:_ Since such vegetation constitutes a <br />safety and health hazard, it is necessary that you make arrangements to have it <br />cut *Within ten (10) days of the date of this letter. NOTE: Legal notification <br />requirement has been met by advertising three times in a local newspaper. <br />Most improved property cannot be effectively mowed with a tractor and will, <br />therefore, require hand labor. ince the City must pay the prevailing rate and <br />charge for administration and billing the property owner, the cost for this ser- <br />vices is usually higher than if you do the work or contract it yourself. <br />This courtesy letter is intended to advise you that the City's rate for <br />cutting such vegetation is $50.00 per hour with a minimum charge of $50.00. The <br />amount of time required to hand -cut this vegetation can be expensive. We sin- <br />cerely urge that. make arrangements to have the cutting done within the ten <br />(10) day period. <br />_ However, vegetation not abated within ten (10) days of the date of this letter <br />will be subject to being cut by hand labor, at the direction of the City, at the <br />above- mentioned rates. A statement, payable within 30 days for the costs involved, <br />will be mailed to you. Unpaid mowing charges may be collected through Small Claims <br />Court or an assessment may be levied against the property. <br />Properties inspected are also subject to other Housing Code and Environmental <br />Code violations (Section 8.265 and 8.305). Violations for correction will be <br />noted below. <br />For your information, a copy of the Eugene Code Sections 6.005 and 6.515 (Sec- <br />tions 6.005 and 6.515 amended by Ordinance No. 18199, enacted May 31,.1978) and <br />Resolution No. 3513 have been printed on the reverse side of this letter. <br />If you need further information, please call 687 -g. <br />5279 <br />1. Grass and /or weeds over 10" high in front and /or interior yards. <br />2. Weeds and /or grass over 10" high growing in alley or easement. <br />3. Berry vines growing over any property line. <br />6. Tree or trees with branches that extend over the sidewalk area and are less than 9' above the <br />walk surface. <br />Q 7. Tree or trees with branches that extend over the street and alley public right -of -way that are <br />less than 15' above the highest point of that roadway. <br />[� 8. Tree branches or shrubbery in visual clearance triangle on private property that are between <br />2 -1/2' and 9' above the adjacent curb. (See enclosure.) <br />Q 9. Trees, branches or shrubbery within the 35' "clear zone" in the public right -of -way between <br />the property line and the curb that are between 1 -112' and 9' above the curb. (See enclosure.) <br />10. Tree branches or shrubs blocking street or traffic signs. <br />11. Poison oak or poison ivy growing on any public or private property. <br />12. Junk, garbage, and /or debris in alley or easement. <br />
