DEVELOPED PROPERTY <br />From the data supplied by Table VI we have determined the typical activity <br />costs of a developed property abatement to be $74.38. Multiplied by the <br />Division's overhead rate of 32.8 % this figure yields an overhead cost of <br />$24.40 which, when added to this typical abatement cost, shows a total <br />activity cost of $98.78 per abatement. In the previous section we calculated <br />administration costs per inspected or abated developed property to be $5.67. <br />Multiplied by the Division's overhead rate this figure yields an overhead cost <br />of $1.86 which, when added to the calculated administration cost, shows a <br />total administration cost of $7.53 per abatement. Added to the total activity <br />related cost for such an abatement of $98.78, we get $106.31 in total costs <br />incurred by the City's Vegetation Management Program in the abatement of <br />developed property vegetation nuisances. <br />For those developed property nuisance complaints that were inspected but did <br />not require abatement by the City, we show an average operations activity cost <br />of $21.80. Multiplied by the Division's overhead rate this figure yields an <br />overhead cost of $7.15 which, when added to the average non abated complaint <br />cost, shows an average total activity cost of $28.95 for each such complaint <br />that was inspected but not abated. When the total administration cost of <br />$7.53 for each inspected developed property complaint is added we get a total <br />of $36.48 incurred by the City's Vegetation Management Program in the process- <br />ing and investigation of each developed property complaint that did not <br />require abatement by the City. <br />UNDEVELOPED PROPERTY <br />From the data supplied by Table VI we have determined the typical activity <br />costs of an undeveloped property abatement to be $67.85. Multiplied by the <br />Division's overhead rate of 32.8 % this figure yields an overhead cost of <br />$22.26 which, when added to this typical abatement cost, shows a total <br />activity cost of $90.11 per undeveloped property abatement. The previously <br />calculated administration costs per inspected or abated undeveloped property <br />is only $.37. Multiplied by the Division's overhead rate this figure yields <br />an overhead cost of $.12 which, when added to the calculated administration <br />cost, shows a total administration cost of $.49 per abatement. Added to the <br />total activity related cost for such an abatement of $90.11, we get $90.60 in <br />total costs incurred by the City's Vegetation Management Program in the <br />abatement of undeveloped property vegetation nuisances. <br />For all those undeveloped properties that were inspected but did not require <br />abatement by the City, we show an average operations activity cost of $1.07. <br />Multiplied by the Division's overhead rate this figure yields an overhead cost <br />of $.35 which, when added to the average operations activity cost for each <br />property inspected, shows an average total activity cost of $1.42 for each <br />such property that was inspected.
