The 528 hours of temporary time devoted to the developed property management <br />category of the vegetation program equates to 31,680 minutes. When this <br />figure is subtracted from the operations total of 53,570 minutes devoted to <br />this management category it shows that only 21,890 minutes of total program <br />time were spent by the Vegetation Manager in the daily operations of the <br />developed property category. Added to the 35,116 minutes that were devoted to <br />undeveloped property management operations and the 6,375 minutes that were <br />devoted to City property management operations yields a total of 63,381 <br />minutes devoted to program operations by the Vegetation Manager. When this <br />figure is divided into the Vegetation Manager's operations times per each <br />category, the percentage of this position's daily operations time for each is <br />determined. <br />Regular position operations time devoted to developed property = 34.5 <br />Regular position operations time devoted to undeveloped property = 55.4 <br />Regular position operations time devoted to City property = <br />100.0 <br />ADMINISTRATION TIME PER MANAGEMENT CATEGORY <br />As was calculated previously, the total annual time devoted toward the <br />vegetation program is 115,200 minutes (240 employee days). Subtracting from <br />this the 95,641 minutes spent on daily operations activities leaves 19,559 <br />minutes of program time devoted to the overall administration of the program. <br />When divided by the total program time these 2 figures yield the following <br />percentages: <br />Daily operations activities = 83.0 <br />Overall program administration = 17.0 <br />100.0 <br />This 17.0 % of annual program time devoted to the overall administration of <br />the vegetation program is, for the most part, directly proportional to the <br />number of complaints received and investigated within each management category <br />during a given year. The time spent in periodic administrative activities <br />such as procuring supplies, updating the vegetation map logs, coordinating the <br />program's advertising and printing, and filing monthly activity reports is <br />closely related to the amount of time and activity spent within each of the <br />program's management categories. As such, the 19,559 minutes of annual <br />program time that is devoted to overall program administration will be <br />prorated among the 3 management categories according to the same percentages <br />that these categories comprise of the total program operations time. <br />The table on the following page (Table III) illustrates the breakdown of <br />administration time among the 3 management categories both by showing the <br />actual number of minutes spent in each category and by the percent this <br />represents of the program's total time. <br />Vegetation Program <br />Cost Analysis 8 <br />
