YOUTH SPORTS PARK <br /> SHELDON HIGH SCHOOL OCI‘ <br /> INTRODUCTORY MEETING REPORT <br /> MAY 22, 1999 <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> The second in a series of initial workshops for the Youth Sports Complexes planned as part of <br /> the Parks and Open Space bond measure program was held at the Sheldon Community Center on <br /> the morning of Saturday, May 22t from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon. The first part of the workshop <br /> consisted of an open house from 8:30 am to 9:30 am, during which attendees could review a <br /> series of presentation boards displaying information about the Parks and Open Space program <br /> elements, their locations and a general time line, an outline of options for the collaborative <br /> development of the Youths Sports Parks, a sample schedule of play times for the proposed <br /> artificial turf stadiums, an inventory map of all current available sports facilities in the Eugene- <br /> Springfield area, and a series of case -study plans for sports parks in other locations (designs by <br /> Cameron, McCarthy, Gilbert LLP). <br /> Following the open house, Brian McCarthy presented the project background and introduced <br /> David Piercy and Christine Andersen to comment on the project and the partnership between 4J <br /> School District and the City of Eugene respectively.
