J r
Terry,
Linda asked me to prepare a draft facility use schedule for the proposed sports parks and /or the artificial turf fields
being considered by 4J. I don't think I can project the use until I get a clearer idea of what is being proposed (i.e.,
the number and types of fields). If we are only talking about one artificial turf field at each high school, I could
probably give you a good idea of how the facility use would look, but if we are talking about that plus other natural
turf fields, I would need to wait until that information is better defined.
I did talk with Jim J. to get an update on his talks with 4J regarding the City contributing POS $ to their football field
projects. According to Jim, they are just now talking about how a potential partnership would work. Jim said that
he wouldn't make any agreements unless we could establish a clear benefit to the community. This would include
use by groups other than 4J and at times that are actually usable. He assured me that we (LRCS) would be
involved in the discussions before any decisions were made.
Terry, Jim couldn't really give me any specifics about the facilities themselves, other than 4J has apparently
decided on the "Field Turf' type surface over traditional astro turf or grass.
On other POS stuff, I'm meeting with PW next week to discuss scheduling of the school field renovations. I'II keep
you posted on that process. Renee
Page 2
