-3— January 2, 2003
is completely opposed to the idea of one alcohol vendor at this type of festival then we'll respect this and make
plans accordingly.
Security
A security team created by us, or a recognized security team will be hired if required by the city to work the day
and night of the event. We would have significant savings if we could assemble our own security team. A fence
should run from the entrance to the back and front of the stages to behind the sponsors and end there.
Transportation
See the Site Map for notations of the paved parking areas. We seek approval to use the fields beyond for
parking, similar to Art & the Vineyard, and Cuthberg Amphitheatre shows. We will have a bicycle valet on site
as well. The event will produce significant traffic loads on River Road the Ferry Street Bridge area, as well as
Franklin Boulevard. The traffic produced will slow traffic but shouldn't impede it. We haven't planned how or if
we need to have police direct traffic.
We're proposing that vendors be able to park Friday evening in Alton Baker Park, but no vendor set
up would take place until 7am Saturday and nothing other than car camping would be allowed, the same for 0
Saturday night. CA- P' n3
Closing:
The notion of putting this event into reality surely conjures up the facts surrounding the much liked
and hated Bill Conde, and his World Hempfest. This ended in 1999; he is currently out of the country on a five -
year leave and faces legal problems because of chronic problems surrounding his past events. We intend to
manage and enforce community standards at this event and avoid much of the problems surrounding Conde's
past events.
I care how this event impacts the city's park, and I want to commit to personally meet with the
supervisor Tim Ray, or Parks employees to be guided on how we can minimize damage to turf, make sure
traffic flow and checkpoints are smooth. So far your department has been extremely helpful in preparing this
application rather thoroughly.
Believe me, that we are positive, serious, and organized — and are very willing to negotiate the details.
Lastly I would like to shy from the media until an official application is granted; even in that case I'm not the
public relations spokesperson. I look forward to communicating with you about any aspect, as I'll be the link
between other individuals and groups and your department.
Sincerely,
64 ,7/4
Aaron Reddick
Emissary
1711 PATTERSON, APT #6
EUGENE, OR 97401
541 -606 -5690
VIKING7717 @YAHOO.COM
3
