CONSERVATION ACTIONS THAT WILL BE CARRIED OUT <br /> The Service, ODA, NPSO, and the Eugene School District shall implement the following <br /> as allowed under laws, regulations, and policies effective at the time of the proposed <br /> actions and subject to limitations in funding. <br /> A. THE SERVICE SHALL: <br /> 1. Provide educational materials and instruction as appropriate for <br /> South Eugene High School regarding Bradshaw's lomatium and <br /> the native grasslands of the Willamette Valley. <br /> a. May involve one week of instruction or class assistance <br /> during the Bradshaw's lomatium flowering season; and <br /> b. May provide copies of the Recovery Plan and other <br /> literature on Bradshaw's lomatium and native grassland <br /> species, as feasible. <br /> 2. Coordinate educational presentation to South Eugene High School <br /> students to facilitate: <br /> a. student identification of rare and common plants that may <br /> occur in wet prairie habitats; <br /> b. monitoring and calculation of population dynamics on wet <br /> prairie remnants within the conservation area; and <br /> c. student exploration of the function and dynamics of native <br /> ecosystems. <br /> 3. Provide metal fence posts and flagging sufficient to protect the <br /> plant colony on school district property south of 18th and Pearl <br /> Street. <br /> 4. Recognize that the area immediately surrounding the plant colony <br /> south of 18th and Pearl is used by the St. Vincent DePaul Center <br /> for parking during Eugene Emeralds baseball games. The funds <br /> obtained from parking fees are used to support the center. <br /> 5. Provide technical assistance to the school district to assist in the <br /> conservation of native habitats on school district properties. <br /> 6. Assist the NPSO in the development and production of educational <br /> material as necessary for use in the Eugene School District. <br />
