Monroe St.
Eugene, OR 97402
Dear Mr. Piercy:
As requested in your letter dated June 27, 1996, we have enclosed a copy of a draft conservation
agreement for Eugene School District 4J. The purpose of a conservation agreement is to further
the conservation of listed, proposed, or candidate threatened species and their habitats. We look
forward to working together to accomplish this goal.
The draft agreement is intended to initiate a dialogue between interested parties. The Oregon
Department of Agriculture is included for its expertise and authority because Lomatium
bradshawii is listed as endangered by the State of Oregon. The Native Plant Society of Oregon
is included because its members have expressed an interest in providing technical and
educational expertise to the district. The District's potential commitments are separated into
those pertaining to maintenance and those pertaining to education.
If you have any questions, please call Laura Todd or Patricia Worthing at (503) 231 -6179. We
appreciate your interest and efforts in conserving threatened and endangered species.
Sincerely,
Russell D.
