Mr. Bjorklund answered that a local artisan, Vic Hanson, had worked with some
local school children to create a number of totem poles of which two had been donated to POS. He noted
that POS staff was currently investigating possible location for the totem poles and suggested they might
be placed in the West Alton Baker park area in association with the host house. Mr. Bjorklund reported he
planned to contact Esther Stutzman to discuss the matter.
Mr. Bjorklund, responding to a question from Mr. Biggs, noted that another totem pole near DeFazio
bridge had also been created by Mr. Hanson.
Willamalane
Mr. Hyde noted he had recently received a report from Park Services Division Director Joel Miller
regarding the Eastgate area.
