Autzen Stadium Expansion Project A 3925
April 28, 2000 Page. 3
e. On- Campus Parking Management: Additional consideration regarding the potential for on-
campus parking management will be discussed following a review of on- campus parking and a
discussion with University officials.
7. Bicycle Facilities
a. Bike /Pedestrian Separation: Bicycle and pedestrian traffic would be difficult to separate on
many of the approaches to the Stadium. In areas of pedestrian congestion, it is recommended that
signage be placed that advises cyclists to dismount and walk their bicycles.
b., c. Bicycle Parking Location and number of spaces: The bicycle parking location is still being
finalized.
d. Bicycle Parking Fees: This will be addressed during our May 5 meeting.
8. Signage
A signage plan will be developed for the pre -game and post -game traffic flows. A preliminary
discussion with City staff will be helpful in the design of the signage and if members of the
traffic engineering department were available for meeting with on May 5 we can initiate the
development of this effort.
9. Financing of Critical Facilities
The University has made a strong commitment to participating with the City and LTD in making
improvements that will address deficiencies. Designing the facilities surrounding the stadium for
football game crowds (which occur five to six days every year) is unreasonable. Some additional
clarification regarding this comment is necessary.
10. Other
Unrelated to the TDM program.
We appreciate the opportunity to respond to this letter and appreciate the input and comments
you have provided. We look forward to meeting with you on May 5 If you have any questions
regarding this response or the Transportation Demand Management Program as submitted,
please call either of us at (503) 228 -5230.
Sincerely,
KITTELSON & ASSOCIATES, INC.
Peter Koonce
Engineering Associate
Paul Ryus, P.E.
Project Manager
Kittelson & Assodates, Inc.
