Outline for Meeting
OTC and Parks & Open Spaces
June 13, 2007
Purpose:
To discuss our agreements and concerns regarding the restoration and maintenance of the
Steve Prefontaine Running Trail.
Agreements:
o We have a common purpose in seeing the restoration of the Prefontaine Running
Trail and certain amenities completed by the Fall of 2007.
o We agree certain parts of the trail are complete.
o A substantial agreement on the trail layout.
Discussion:
1. How much of the Trail remains to be completed.
2. What needs redone of the completed sections and when to schedule this work.
3. What standards are to apply.
4. What is the nature of OTC/POS Partnership?
5. How will the continual upkeep of the Trail be accomplished?
6. To whom does each organization have a responsibility — OTC has a responsibility to
it's members, donors, the running community, and the community at large.
Desired Outcomes:
1. Agreement on what work needs to be completed.
2. Agreement on how the work will be funded.
3. Agreement on the standards which will be applied to all work to be completed and
any necessary redo's.
4. Knowing the role OTC will play in the restoration effort and in future maintenance.
5. Obtain the best return on our investment (ROI).
6. Straight forward communication between OTC and POS on work and objectives.
(no lip service)
7. Highest quality work performed in the restoration of Pre's Trail — resulting in the
highest quality running experience.
8. Adherence to Pre's vision.
9. Recognition and accolades for a job well done for all involved.
