membership consists of roughly 4,000 individuals. In addition, the Science
<br />Factory is a magnet both locally and regionally for school and group field
<br />trip visits, tourist visits and special event visitors. In addition, a scholarship
<br />program supported by local private donors and sponsors allows the
<br />organization to serve children of needy families who otherwise could not
<br />afford programs, such as summer science camp and afterschool science
<br />classes. Through its array of programs, the Science Factory served over
<br />16,000 people in 2005.
<br />Objectives for 2006
<br />• To improve the quality of programming for children and general audiences.
<br />• To improve the quality of exhibit hall collections and features and
<br />planetarium presentations.
<br />• Increase the participation of the museum's constituent groups and the
<br />community.

<br />Funding: As an independent, non - profit organization, the Science Factory
<br />does not receive any public or governmental funding. its operations are
<br />sustained solely by admissions income, membership dues, private donations
