4
EUGENE Public Public Works
Maintenance Division
City of Eugene
MEMORANDUM 1820 Roosevelt Boulevard
Eugene, Oregon 97402
(541) 682 -4800
(541) 682 -4882 FAX
Date: September 23, 1997
To: Jim Torrey
From: Bob Hammitt
Subject: Softball Field Property
After our phone conversation yesterday, I touched base with Allan Richards regarding the property off
Northwest Expressway. He stated that the most ideal location is the Coburg Road property; however,
since negotiations with Wildish were not proceeding he was investigating other options. He said the
Northwest Expressway property is owned by two brothers, William Kabiser, who lives on the property,
and David and Vivian Kabiser, who live in Colorado. They told him they are not interested in selling,
as they plan retire on the property.
The bottom line is if they can't get the Coburg Road property, they are still very interested in
something in the Northwest Expressway area. The situation they are looking for is property that abuts
an arterial street and would have a minimum impact on residential areas.
