Therefore, there is no legal
requirement which says that money can't be used for something else. A moral one perhaps, but not a legal
one.
Thanks
Johnny
From: ETTER John F
To: MEDLIN Johnny R; MARTIN Vic R
Cc: MORGAN Dick A; HAMMITT Bob; EVELETH Doug A
Subject: RE: General Fund Capital Cash Savings
Date: Thursday, January 16, 1997 9:10AM
The decision makers in this should also know that Gilham Park
was one of the parks purchased (in 1977) with funds from the
bond issue approved by voters in 1972, and not to be confused
with the general fund. - -John
From: MEDLIN Johnny R
To: MARTIN Vic R
Cc: ETTER John F; MORGAN Dick A; HAMMITT Bob; EVELETH Doug A
Subject: RE: General Fund Capital Cash Savings
Date: Thursday, January 16, 1997 8:37AM
Hi Vic,
I'm not surprised that this process has moved from an "on
hold" basis to one of taking the money away. Given the
impacts to come, I think we can live with it. However, I want
to flag once again that the $74K of funds in the park
acquisition item was that money we received from the sale of a
portion of park land at Gilham which was promised to the
Council and neighborhood to be reused for park acquisition in
that neighborhood.
If that money is going away, I need it clearly understood that
when people ask what happened to their promised park we will
be telling them that they lost the funds (and their park for
the foreseeable future) as a part of the BM #47 strategy.
Thanks
Johnny
From: MARTIN Vic R
To: MEDLIN Johnny R
Page 1
